Death by Chocolate Serves Up Deliciously Murderous Experience at Village Eatery

The murder mystery dinner theater show is an interactive "whodunit?" production.

Black Box Books at Village Book Shop and Renaissance Murder Mystery Players present another of their popular murder mystery dinner productions, Death by Chocolate, on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 6:30 p.m. at Village Eatery, 221 N. Glendora Ave.

Early reservations are recommended because seating is limited and demand is high following the Christmas Can Be Murder in December.

The evening of murder, mystery and dinner includes a three-course dinner and three-act show as well as awards for the best “sleuths” and door prizes donated by Carol Gill of Undercovers. Tickets are $50 each and can be reserved by calling the Village Book Shop, (626) 335-5720.

Death by Chocolate is everyone’s favorite candy company, which Angela (played by Beatrice Casagran) has taken from a small, dull enterprise and turned it into a great business opportunity. But for whose benefit?

There’s Barney (played by director Ken Salzman), the president, newly married to Angela; Henri (Kent Vaughn), the world famous confectionary chef or Florine (Ann Thomas), Barney’s sister and owner of a candy supply company. Or is it Thomas Kenwood (Randy Lopez), owner of the largest candy distribution conglomerate and Angela’s lover. Or maybe Lansing Hughes (Jody Bardin), Kenwood’s body guard and detective settling a problem for his boss as a good detective should.
