Wind Advisory Issued for Foothills, San Gabriel Valley

Strong Santa Ana winds are expected to hit Los Angeles County mountains through the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for Santa Ana winds blowing at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

"The strongest winds will be focused below passes and canyons across Northwest San Fernando Valley as well as the foothills of the San Gabriel Valley this morning," the NWS reported.

Gusty winds could make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles such as trucks or campers, according to the NWS. Officials suggest that locals use extra caution while driving.
