Where to Celebrate Veterans Day 2012
Events honoring armed service veterans in and around Glendora.
Veterans Day 2012, a federal holiday to honor armed service veterans, is Sunday, Nov. 11.
Not to be confused with Memorial Day, which remembers men and women who died while serving, Veterans Day honors the service of all U.S. military veterans.
There are various local and nearby businesses offering discounts and freebies for veterans this Veterans Day weekend. The following are Veterans Day events happening in or around Glendora.

- The American Legion Post is holding a ceremony on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 11 am in front of the Glendora City Hall flagpole.
- The Covina Rotary Club is honoring U.S. troops through the Veteran Day weekend with a Field of Valor at Sierra Vista Middle School, 777 East Puente St., Covina. There will be 2001 flags on display, representing America’s veterans. Flags with black ribbons mark those killed in action. Visitors can adopt a flag for $35, with the money going toward military members and their families in the East San Gabriel Valley. The field will be open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, with an Air Force flyover at 10:30 a.m.
