2.  The Glendora City Council meets tonight Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. in the City Council board room at 116 E. Foothill Blvd. Read the agenda here.

3. In La Fetra Center news, there will be a free showing of Taken 2 at 1 p.m., as well as the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank from 1 – 3 p.m. The La Fetra Center is located at 333 E. Foothill Blvd.

4. The Glendora Genealogy Group will host its general meeting Tuesday, Aug. 27, 7 p.m. in the Elm Room at the La Fetra Center. Mary Jefferson, the great-great granddaughter of Easton Hemings Jefferson, the youngest of the seven children of Sally Hemings, a slave, and Thomas Jefferson, her owner, will be the keynote speaker.

5. The Glendora Public Library hosts Time for Tykes Story Time, a free story reading for children ages 3 to 5 years old. The reading is Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 10:30 a.m.
