Small Quake Rattles Claremont Area

The 2.6 magnitude earthquake hit the region Monday night.

A small earthquake jolted the East San Gabriel Valley today, according to automated USGS sensors.

The 2.6 magnitude quake hit 3 miles northwest of the Claremont Colleges campus at 9:10 p.m.

The quake was felt in Claremont, Glendora, San Dimas, Covina, Pomona and Montclair. People as far away as Long Beach also said they felt weak shaking, according to the USGS website.
