Victory Girls sell war bonds to assist in World War II effort.

In a call to all Glendorans to support their troops fighting during World War II, Victory Girls dressed in uniforms were deployed in the Glendora community to sell war bonds for the war effort.

The drive was part of a city-proclaimed Service Men’s Day on Sept. 4, 1942, according to the Glendora Press.

The Victory Girls, who visited every business in Glendora, ended the drive with bond sales of $9,578, a record for a city of Glendora’s size in 1942, according to the newspaper.
