Sept. 19, 1957: Glendora Bids Farewell to Post Office Rural Route

After 53 years, Glendora's rural free delivery is discontinued, reports the Sept. 19, 1957 edition of the Glendora Press.

Signs that Glendora was no longer a rural city became apparent when the Glendora Post Office discontinued its rural postal route and replaced it with a carrier route.  Rural Delivery Service was reserved for areas considered rural.
