Sept. 18, 1963: Record Rain Brings Soggy Constitution Day

More than an inch of rain is reported, hitting the record books as one of the wettest Septembers in years, reports the Sept. 18, 1963 edition of the Glendora Press.

Rains soaked Glendora throughout September in the year of 1963, causing traffic accidents and a very wet Constitution Day.

About 1.08 inches of rain fell in September alone, reported the Glendora Press. Flags were put out in the downtown area for Constitution Day, but because of the rain, the wooden standards swelled.

None of the flags, save for one, could be freed.
