On This Day in Glendora: June 3, 1954

Six Glendora graduates get their diplomas from La Verne College.

The Glendora News reported that 58 graduates received their bachelor of arts degrees from La Verne College (now the University of La Verne) on June 3, 1954. Six of the graduating class were from Glendora, including Mrs. Ida A. di Gesu, Mrs. Marion W. May, Paul Mitchell, Mrs. Wilma Geary and Larry O. Shattuck.

According to the newspaper, Mitchell received departmental honors in history, Shattuck was to teach at the then newly opened Gladstone school, and di Gesu had been awarded a scholarship to Claremont Graduate School.
