On this Day in Glendora: June 12, 1911

Rush work on Foothill Boulevard nearly completed.

In less then four weeks, the grading and surfacing of Foothill Boulevard was nearly complete, the Glendora Gleaner reported the week of June 12, 1911.

Beginning at Citrus Avenue, the cement work had been finished, as well as a footbridge across the Big Dalton wash. The grading east and the laying of crushed rock had been completed to Michigan Avenue (now Glendora Avenue).

According to the newspaper, the project had been funded by a $3.5 million bond.
