Motorcyclist, FJ Cruiser Film Close Call on Glendora Mountain Road

Two YouTube videos surface showing an FJ Cruiser driving on the wrong side of the road before diverting a near-fatal accident with a motorcyclist.

With hairpin turns on a steep mountain incline, Glendora Mountain Road is notorious for both breathtaking views and dangerous, sometimes fatal crashes. The road is no stranger to helicopter rescues, injuries and collisions.

But passengers in an FJ Cruiser and a motorcyclist can consider themselves lucky when two videos uploaded to YouTube apparently showed them nearly colliding at high rates of speed on Glendora Mountain Road.

One video from the perspective of the motorcyclist was uploaded March 3 by a user under the name TheRealOakman. The 19-second video shows the FJ Cruiser approaching the motorcycle on the wrong side of the road as it comes out of a tight turn. The motorcycle appears to swerve to just barely avoid colliding with the FJ Cruiser.

Another video has also surfaced on the Web, which seems to be taken from inside the FJ Cruiser. The vehicle appears to be filming two longboarders descending the road when it begins driving on the opposite side to film the pair from a side angle. That’s when the motorcyclist suddenly comes out of the turn, nearly spelling disaster for both motorists.

According to the description of this video, the original poster removed the video taken from inside the FJ Cruiser because it was flooded with negative comments. The driver of the FJ Cruiser allegedly posted an apology, but it has since been deleted. Both videos contain hundreds of posts denouncing the driver of the FJ Cruiser as “reckless” and “stupid.”
