Local Bicyclists Invited to Participate in Azusa Bike Tour

The 5-mile family-friendly ride will take participants through city sites in Azusa.

Local bicycle enthusiasts are invited to a family-friendly bicycle tour through hidden gardens in Azusa.

The Healthy Azusa and Cyclists Inciting Change through Live Exchange (CICLE) will host the leisurely-paced bicycle tour on Sunday, Jan. 15.

The ride will start at Veterans Freedom Park in Azusa, with stops along the way at the Memorial Park Community Garden and the Dhammakava–Meditation Center.

The route is 5 miles long and will be led by a team of trained riders.

Riders are asked to meet at 11 a.m. in the gazebo at Veteran's Freedom Park, 213 E. Foothill Blvd, Azusa.

The ride is expected to start at 11:30 a.m.

All participants are expected to bring their bicycle, in good running order, and plenty of night lights. Participants should also be able to ride a bike safely with the ability to brake, change gears, and balance while stopping and starting.

All participants under 18 must wear a helmet and be escorted by a parent or guardian. Children under age 8 should be on a tag-a-long, bike trailer, tandem, or other safe child-carrying device to participate in the ride.

Healthy Azusa is a collaboration between the city of Azusa, educational institutions, health care services and business and community organizations to promote health and wellness.
