July 6, 1972: Harding Military Academy Closes its Doors
Citing declining enrollment, the 38-year-old military academy announced it would no longer open in the fall.
Harding Academy, a military academy in Glendora, announced it would not reopen again in the fall, reported the Glendora Press on July 6, 1972. For 38 years, the school trained young men for careers in the armed forces. But declining enrollment over the last ten years of the school’s existence had closed its doors for good.
