July 30, 1926: Child Struck By Truck, Survives

A 3-year-old boy was struck by a grocery delivery truck on Vista Bonita, reported The Glendora Gleaner on this day in 1926.

A delivery truck struck 3-year-old Dale Jack, but the Glendora toddler survived the ordeal, reported The Glendora Gleaner, on this day in 1926.

The boy was playing on Vista Bonita Avenue with some friends when he suddenly ran in front of a moving grocery delivery truck.

The driver, Dan Fay Jr., swerved to avoid the child, but truck clipped him, sending the toddler into the center of the street.

A nearby doctor rushed to the scene and treated the unconscious child. Although the child suffered unspecified injuries, the newspaper reported he was expected to make a full recovery.

Fay was not cited in the accident.
