July 3, 1936: New Fire Truck to Roll Into Town

A new "modern" fire engine purchased by the city will soon arrive, reports the Glendora Press Gleaner.

On July 3, 1936, the Glendora Press Gleaner reported that a new American La France Scout Model fire engine would soon make its debut.

The new "modern" machine was described as an 80-cylinder, 125-horse-power machine, with a 500-gallon pumper. The engine would arrive in the city July 17, 1936. The city had previously used an older model since 1913.
