Ever look at your teenaged son or daughter and wonder, “How did they grow up so fast?”
Teenagers are growing up in a very different world than the previous generation, and many of them are struggling to figure out the awkward transition between childhood and adulthood.
in Glendora is hosting a seminar to help parents better understand the transition their teenager is going through called “Understanding Your Teenager: A Seminar For Parents With Doug Fields.”
The seminar will look at how to be a more effective parent and how to connect with kids in this stage in life.
Topics discussed will include:
- Ending the homework hassle
- Peer pressure
- Rules and boundaries
- Bringing out the best in our teens
- Choosing which battles to fight
- Raising teens to be responsible adults
This seminar is geared towards parents of preteens, teens and even young adults.
It will be hosted by Doug Fields, a pastor for over 30 years who has served at Saddleback Church and Mariner’s Church. He is the author of over 50 books that have been translated into a dozen languages.
This seminar will take place at 6:30 p.m. May 23, 2012 at Worship Center. Cost is $5 per person.
