Gold Line Foothill Extension Nearing 50 Percent Completion

Work continues on the Gold Line segment from Pasadena to Azusa, officials said Wednesday.

The Foothill Extension corridor is nearing 50 percent completion. Most of the bridges worked on and at-grade crossings are either completed, or are nearing completion. Light rail track will soon be laid, said Habib Balian, Chief Executive Officer of the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority.

Work continues at four of the six stations along the route. At the Duarte station, the third and final concrete pour for the platforms will be taking place, Balian said.

The Foothill Extension Construction Authority will conduct a pre-bid conference, Nov. 20, for the next phase of the Foothill Extension from Azusa to Montclair. Interested consultants will learn about the impending procurement process for the engineering and design of the 12.3-mile segment. The meeting will take place in the Arcadia City Hall Council Chambers at 9 a.m., Balian said.
