Friday Essentials: A Fake Robbery, a Rescue From A Giant Sign and the Farmers Market

A fake robbery and a rescue from a giant sign are two of the biggest news this morning, as well as some events to keep you busy this weekend.

1. A group of students were filming a fake robbery for a student project at Classic Coffee Thursday morning. But no one told Glendora Police that, as officers responded to the scene with real guns drawn. According to police, the incident could have ended very tragically.

2. Two construction workers are relieved to be back on the ground after being stranded 130 feet in the air in a malfunctioning construction lift for more than an hour Thursday night. Check out details here.

3. Like the music of Journey? Then check out DSB, a Journey tribute band at this week’s Concerts in the Park, Sunday Aug. 4 at 6 p.m. at Finkbiner Park’s bandshell area. For more information, call (626) 914-2357.
