Firefighters Make Quick Work of Grass Fire

Unknown cause for the small fire near the 210 freeway Monday.

Firefighters extinguished a small grass fire Monday that burned near the 210 and 57 freeways.

The fire burned about 1/4 of an acre of light grass near the eastbound Interstate 210 freeway at the 57 freeway south interchange, said the Los Angeles County Fire Department. No structures were threatened.

Fire fighters were called at 2:08 p.m. to the grass fire and had it extinguished within seven minutes, officials said.

There is no word on what might have caused the small fire.
