Bryan Clay 'Fit 4 Fall 5K' Coming Nov. 23

Proceeds to benefit health and wellness programs in the Glendora Unified School District.

Participants are gearing up for another Saturday morning full of fitness and physical health with the 2nd Annual Fit 4 Fall 5K, Nov. 23.

The event is organized by Bryan Clay, Glendora resident and 2008 Olympic Decathlon Gold Medalist.

Proceeds for the event will benefit health and wellness programs offered in the Glendora Unified School District. Organizers have also partnered this year with New Unto Others, which collects clothing for families in need, according to the event's website.

Participants who donated a minimum of one bag of clothing on the day of the race will receive $5 cash back from their race registration, organizers said.

The race will begin at the intersection of Glendora Avenue and Foothill Blvd. Runners will travel along northbound and turn east onto Bennett Avenue. From Bennett, the race will turn south onto Loraine Avenue, west onto Mountain View Avenue, south on Cullen Avenue, west on Ada Avenue, then north onto Glendora Avenue to finish at its start point near City Hall.

Information packets are available for pick up at the Holiday Stroll, which starts at 6 p.m., Nov. 22.

On Saturday, participants should arrive to the pre-race check in and pick up their bib at 7 a.m. Registration closes at 8:15 a.m. The race begins at 9 a.m.

Post-race festivities begin at 9:30 a.m., with the awards ceremony commencing at 10:15 a.m.

Prizes given out will range from Asics and Oakley gear, gift cards, medals and trophies, organizers said.

Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome. Children 6 years old and under are permitted to ride in strollers, or scooters, organizers said.
