Aug. 23, 1918: 100 Glendora Soldiers Fighting in WWI

Of the 1.5 million American soldiers in France, 100 are from Glendora.

As we remember the 47,000 U.S. troops currently stationed in Afghanistan, we look back in history during another war. In the Aug. 23, 1918 edition, the Glendora Gleaner reported that 100 Glendora young men were among the 1.5 million American soldiers fighting in the trenches of France during WWI.  The city’s population at the time was just over 2,000 people.
