Aug. 20, 1920: Citrus Farmers Deal With Pesky Pests

Growers use a local fumigating company to combat scale pests.

The Glendora Mutual Co-operative Fumigating Co. launched an annual fumigation of scale pests, a common infest of citrus fruit trees, according to the Aug. 20, 1920 edition of the Glendora Gleaner. Scale insect pests were major menaces to local citrus growth production.
