Aug. 10, 1911: Rangers Help Avert Fire in Little Dalton Canyon

A potentially "devastating" fire is avoided thanks to "vigilant" rangers, the Glendora Gleaner reported.

When a fire broke out in Little Dalton Canyon, Glendora rangers jumped on their horses and raced into town to alert and wrangle as many firefighters as they can  to help fight the blaze. In the August 10, 1911 edition of the Glendora Gleaner, the firefighters who were alerted ran through the streets collecting gunny sacks and other equipment.  The fire began at 3 p.m. and was under control by 6 p.m.
