DAR TO HOLD EVENING MEETING AT BIDWELL FORUM 10/22/13 The Serrano Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution invites interested women to attend a special meeting on
Tuesday, October 22nd, to be held in the Bidwell Forum above the Glendora Public Library. It will be a “sack dinner,” with coffee, tea, and cookies provided. Members and guests are asked to bring their own homemade or favorite takeout meal. The
business portion of the meeting will begin at 5:00 PM, followed by an informative lecture by our guest speaker, Nancy Kilbourn, who will be presenting a program on the American Revolutionary General George Rogers Clark.
The meeting will conclude around 7:30 PM. The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women’s organization, the aims of which are to foster American patriotism, preserve American history, and to secure America’s future through better education for children. As one of the most inclusive genealogical societies in America, the DAR currently have more than 175,000 members in more than 3,000 chapters across the United States as well as internationally. Any woman 18 years of age or older (regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background) who can prove lineal descent from a Patriot of the American Revolution (who fought or otherwise gave aid to the cause) is eligible for membership.
