La Fetra Center Volunteer Esperanza Hubble was recently honored by the County of Los Angeles at their 47th Annual Older Americans Recognition Awards Ceremony. Mrs. Hubble received the award in recognition of her outstanding Volunteer service rendered to the community by sharing her ability, mature knowledge and vast experience, as well as giving freely of her time and energy to the enrichment of the entire community.
City of Glendora Mayor Gene Murabito and La Fetra Center Volunteer Coordinator Carol Stellato escorted Mrs. Hubble and her husband Bertram to this event which was held at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles.
Esperanza, "Espie" as she is affectionately known at the Center is a quiet, very humble person whose low-keyed voice and patient manner put everyone instantly at ease - perfect for the receptin desk at La Fetra Center. She greets everyone at the Center with a smile and patiently takes time to answer questions, promote La Fetra Center and its activities, give tours, and help in whatever way is necessary to make their time at the Center a most enjoyable one.
Among the many hobbies and activities Espie enjoys is gardening. Though we have never seen her garden, the florist quality flowers that she brings in to grace the reception desk and other areas of the Center speak volumes of her love for gardening and sharing that beauty with others. Espie does everything with such love and grace that it is quite evident that she is totally dedicated to making the lives of the seniors and others as meaningful as possible.
La Fetra Center and the City of Glendora congratulate Esperanza Hubble and thank her for her years of Volunteer service to La Fetra Center and the City of Glendora.
