Man Robs Chase Bank, Takes Off With Cash

Amount of money taken in robbery not immediately known.

An unarmed man robbed the Chase Bank on Grand Avenue Monday afternoon.

No weapons were seen in the robbery that occurred just before 1:30 p.m. The man, described as white, in his early 20s, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 240 pounds, wearing aviator-style sunglasses and a baseball hat, issued a note demanding money from the teller. The money was placed inside a McDonalds paper bag, according to scanner reports.

The suspect fled in a vehicle south on Grand Avenue from the bank, which is near Ralphs.

Police are still at the scene working on the investigation and have not been able to provide more details.
