Crowds Gather For Glendora's Annual Holiday Stroll

City's kick-off to the holiday season attracts thousands to the downtown Village Center.

Glendora’s downtown Village Center was bustling Friday evening with thousands of people packing Glendora Avenue for the city’s annual Holiday Stroll.

As an opener for the city’s holiday season, the event put on by the Village Center’s Business Improvement featured a tree-lighting ceremony, performances, photos with Santa, strolling carolers and old-fashioned carriage rides.

The event also served as a showcase for the downtown shopping center’s small business merchants, many of whom served up free treats for visitors. The event provides the Village Center the busiest foot traffic through the downtown area of the year.

Entertainment included performances by the Glendora High School’s Tartan Royal Stewarts & Silhouettes Show Choirs, and the Azusa Pacific University Dickens Singers.

“The Holiday Strolls continue to grow every year,” said Council Member Karen Davis. “We continue to add events like the tree lighting ceremony, which we added about six years ago and new entertainment, activities and opportunities for visitors to experience our Village.”
